Prem Mandir

Prem Mandir, Vrindavan

The heart-stealing Prem Mandir stands in the holy land of Vrindavan. Prem means “love,” and Prem Mandir is a beautiful embodiment of all that represents true, selfless love. Step into this breathtaking temple, and allow yourself to experience the essence of purity, beauty, and divine love within your heart.

It took twelve years and one thousand skilled artists to give Prem Mandir its special shape and design. The temple, built under the guidance of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, is one of the most unique in the world. Its total height is 125 feet tall and it is made from gigantic blocks of grainless, pure white Carrara Italian Marble.

Prem Mandir has a 20ft deep foundation, where solid pieces of granite have been laid in order to withstand the ravages of time, as well as to protect the structure from the effects of an earthquake. No steel, bricks or cement have been used to bind the blocks. This is in line with the ancient tradition of great temple building which had been a lost art for several centuries until now.
Within the interior of the Mandir, you will find beautifiul verses that explain the Vedic philosophy inscribed on the walls. There are also 84 panels setup on the exterior to display the loving pastimes of Shri Krishna as depicted in the Shrimad Bhagavatam. These most special leelas have been depicted in chronological order, so that anyone can easily comprehend them in context.

Prem Mandir is full of wonderful examples of unique architecture, rendering it a great attraction for those visitors who enjoy exploring the beauty of creativity, for lovers of fine art, tourists and devotees. The Mandir is surrounded by beautiful gardens and fountains, the temple complex has life-size depictions of four leelas of Shri Krishna-Jhulan leela, Govardhan Leela, Raas Leela and Kaliya Naag Leela.
